My husband lost his job back in June. I was thankfully able to find a part-time benefited position at the local community college so at least we haven't had to worry about insurance. After a ton of applications and several job interviews, my husband was offered a job working for the National Park Service in Grand Teton National Park. (Ha! "Teton" is not recognized in the spell checker!)
We currently live in Green River, Wyoming. It will be interesting living in Moose, Wyoming which has an even smaller population than Green River. We will moving from our 5 bedroom, 3 bath house to government housing. We are hoping to get an actual house but we may end up in a 2 bedroom apartment. It just depends on what is available.
I decided to write a blog for a couple of reasons. One: I want to keep my family and friends updated on our move without letting my employer know what I'm doing. I am an at-will employee which means they can terminate my employment without cause. I don't think they would get rid of me if they knew I was going to quit when the house sells but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Two: This is going to be an adventure! Michael has always been fascinated with Yellowstone and the Tetons. He's wanted to live in the park since he was a kid. I have always wanted to live in the mountains and love the area.
It is going to be hard deciding what to keep and what to toss. Thankfully, Goodwill opened up a store in Rock Springs so I'll have some place to take the things we've decided we can live without.
I'm really hoping we don't have to get rid of our dog. Freddie can be a pain (she tears up Kleenex and eats the kids toys if they leave them out) but she is a part of our crazy family. We should find out tomorrow.
So that's what we are up to. At least our lives won't be boring!
